About

I'm Alok Karnik. I make films in Cincinnati.

I started as a copywriter more than ten years ago, writing for founders and small brands. Video came later… and it stuck, because a camera gets to the truth faster than a paragraph does.

My master's thesis turned into a food pantry that's still running today. That's the thread for me. Community, not output.

The middle path

Video production companies make beautiful content. Polished, cinematic, controlled. It also tends to feel like a TV commercial.

Social media teams go the other direction, optimizing for hooks and trends.

I work between them. One cinema camera. Exceptional microphones. One light when the scene needs it.

High quality. Not overproduced. Never inauthentic.

You work with me

Not an account manager. Not a crew you've never met.

Me, from the first call to the final cut. I take on a few projects at a time, so you're never handed off.

Where it started

Some of my earliest video work was for Urbana Café, right here in Cincinnati.

Is one person enough? For the films I make, yes. When a project needs more hands, I bring in people I trust, and you'll know who they are before the shoot.

Tell me about your project.
